We are proud to announce that the Moving2Ireland concept is award-winning. Our sister company Moving2Canada is the winner of a Small Business BC Award in 2019. Our founder Ruairi Spillane has been recognized in the Best Immigrant Entrepreneur category for building a free one-stop-shop information hub and support network for newcomers to Canada. Moving2Ireland follows the same concept and we work to bring you all the information and support you need to make your international dream a reality.
Welcome to the Moving2Ireland community, where you will find a wide range of information and resources that can help you plan and execute your move to Ireland and achieve success upon arrival.
Over time, we will be adding more free and exclusive content so that you and your family, if applicable, can get this latest and most important information. We also invite you to join our community forum, linked below.
Having already helped many thousands of individuals and families successfully make the move to Canada, the Moving2Ireland team is excited to bring the concept home — back to our roots.
The 21st century is not even two decades old, yet Ireland has already changed so much. After decades of high emigration rates from the island, Ireland quickly became a destination for international migrants. Whereas before the turn of the millenium only around one in 40 people living in Ireland was not Irish, by 2011 this ratio stood at around one in eight. And though this ratio fell slightly by the time 2016 rolled around, this was largely because the number of residents with dual Irish nationality had nearly doubled.
More people are joining the Irish family. Ireland’s streets and towns are now a mix of languages, accents, ethnicities and ideas. Who would have thought that Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo and Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford would have the highest non-Irish populations in the land, or that nearly one-in-five Galway city residents would be non-Irish?
With Irish GDP projected to grow by 3.5% in 2018 and an average growth total of 2.5% projected from 2020-2024, the country is set to be the fastest growing country in the Eurozone area until 2024. Ireland is leaving behind a severe economic downturn that forced many Irish to emigrate and made the country less attractive to newcomers.
Ireland is now a magnet for those seeking adventure and opportunity. As Irish citizens who have all lived abroad at one stage or another, the team at Moving2Ireland remembers the uncertainty and the excitement of the new and unknown. Moving country, even if it is to return to your home country, can be overwhelming. We aim to help you every step of the way.
