Flights to Ireland: advice
In addition to using the tool above to search for the best options on flights to Ireland for you, here are a few other things worth taking into account:
- Though Dublin is by far the largest airport in Ireland in terms of passenger numbers and the quantity of flights arriving and departing, there are other international airports in Ireland, notably Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. Learn more in our dedicated page on airports in Ireland.
- The variety of flights to and from Ireland has expanded in recent years, and seasonal routes mean availability varies throughout the year. Do your research before you fly, and save yourself money, time, or both.
- There are two main airlines based in Ireland: Aer Lingus and Ryanair. If travelling with Ryanair, note that this is a low-cost “no frills” service, with additional costs incurred for things like checking in at the airport (do it online in advance to avoid this), checking in baggage, and getting any in-flight food or beverages.
- Air travel costs between European destinations tend to be more affordable than if you are flying to Ireland from a location outside Europe.
